How to Determine Mileage You Should Report

Distance walked/run — report actual distance (1 Mile walked/run = 1 Mile)

To report your distance in miles for other activities, use the following guidelines. If your activity isn’t listed, use the guideline that 30 minutes of sustained activity = 1 mile. Don’t count inactive time, like between frames in bowling, or waiting for others while golfing.  Report 1 mile for 30 minutes of sustained motion in each of these activities:

Basketball

Bowling

Cycling

Dancing

Disk Golf

Elliptical (unless your device reports miles)

Gardening

Golf

Housework (as long as it involves motion, like vacuuming)

Paddling

Pickleball

Skiing

Strength Training

Swimming

Wheeling self in wheelchair

Yoga/Pilates/Tai Chi
